MEET ELIZABETH

Your Travel Research Nerd

Hi there! I’m Elizabeth Schreiter, and I’m here to be your vacation research nerd. For most of my career, I’ve worked in some shape or form of market research whether it was writing surveys, moderating online discussions, or analyzing aggregated sales data. I’ve also been running a food blog for the last ten-ish years in my spare time, chronicling the food we’ve made in our various kitchens over the years as well as those inpsired by our travels.

During my time in market research, I realized that one of my strengths was combing through large amounts of data and condensing it into something that is easy to understand. It hit me recently that I did exactly that with my customized travel maps--I’d voraciously tear through any and all sources of information on our destinations, organize it in a way that made sense for me that wasn’t just another guidebook, and I felt ready to take on a new city I had never been in before.

If’I’m traveling to a city, I tend to focus on immersing myself in it by exploring as many neighborhoods as I can while I’m there, often by trying to eat at as many places I can during my time there. (It should come as no surprise, then, that my favorite cities to go to are ones known for their excellent food culture.) That said, I’m also usually up for a swim if a salty body of water is available to me, whether that’s the Atlantic, Mediterranean, or the Bay of Biscay.

My approach to providing you with recommendations is to hone in on what is most important to you while you travel and not only provide suggestions on where to go, but also provide guidance on how to make the most of your time in a particular city with advice on details like getting around on public transportation, what tipping culture is like, and much more.

If you’d like to learn more, send me a note via the contact form and I’ll get back to you right away!
